Hydrafacial – co to jest?

The bestselling treatment of Hollywood celebrities has also become a hit at our clinic! HydraFacial is an innovative device for hydrabrasion, or water microdermabrasion, distinguished from other methods of this type by its multifunctionality and therapeutic effect – cleansing is combined with the application of individually selected active ingredients and vacuum massage stimulation. The procedure is painless, and its effectiveness and safety are confirmed by numerous certifications and awards, including US FDA certification. HydraFacial gives an immediate cleansing, moisturising and smoothing effect on the skin of the face, neck and décolleté. You will look fresh and radiant, like a star! HydraFacial also works synergistically with other methods of improving appearance. It is good to perform it before, for example, mesotherapy or laser therapy. It is a year-round treatment that can be used for all skin types.

HydraFacial – how does the procedure work?

The treatment uses disposable, sterile HydroPeel tips and always involves the application of a skin care product (serum). There are 6 tips to choose from to meet the requirements of different skin types at different stages of treatment:

  • exfoliation stage – tips for standard, deep, intensive and body exfoliation,
  • extraction stage – a tip for removing blackheads from the chin or nose,
  • care stage – a tip for the application of a care product.

HydraFacial – how to prepare for the procedure?

The procedure does not require special preparation, provided that there are no irritations or active lesions on the skin, such as inflammation.

“We've had HydraFacial at the clinic for a long time and I can’t imagine working without this technology. It’s more than cleansing the skin. It is a truly comprehensive, non-invasive, express skin therapy with excellent results. It is worth using regularly.”

HydraFacial – recommendations after the procedure

The procedure does not require recovery, and you can return to your daily activities immediately afterwards or even put on makeup and go to an important meeting. However, as after any other dead skin exfoliation treatment, remember to protect your skin from the sun (it is more sensitive to UV rays). Also, avoid irritants, such as peels or acid- or alcohol-based cosmetics.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about HydraFacial

What procedures are best to combine with HydraFacial?

HydraFacial works in synergy with other treatments, including aesthetic medicine and laser therapy treatments. It perfectly prepares the skin for them, and also helps to restore it after more invasive procedures. It reinforces and prolongs the results obtained, forming an important and, one might say, base part of the comprehensive therapies in which Dr Barbara Jerschina and her team specialise.

What are the different stages of the Hydrafacial treatment?

The full treatment consists of 6 stages:

  1. ExfoliationImportantly, we are already moisturising the skin while exfoliating it by saturating it with a multifunctional serum. The exfoliation products are discharged (into a special container) under the action of a vacuum, and the ribbed surface of the tip helps to thoroughly remove the horny layer of the epidermis.
  2. Acid peel.At this stage, a deep cleansing and sebum normalising acid peel based on glycolic and salicylic acids is applied to the skin, which also aids skin regeneration. This stage is often included in the care of oily skin, during the autumn and winter.
  3. Extraction. We remove blackheads and apply a serum with moisturising, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
  4. Rejuvenation and treatment. We introduce individually selected boosters into the skin, e.g. rejuvenating, regenerating, brightening or moisturising based on active ingredients with a strong, targeted care action.
  5. Hydration and antioxidation. At this stage, we introduce a serum rich in antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid to intensively hydrate the skin and protect it from harmful external factors.
  6. Fixation and protection. The final step is the application of a cream selected to meet the needs of the skin and provide high sun protection.

The basic, classic HydraFacial includes 3 steps: cleansing, moisturising and nourishing the skin.

Can HydraFacial be used in the summer?

Absolutely! It is a year-round treatment that can be safely performed at any time of the year. In summer, it will perfectly moisturise the skin and strengthen its protective properties against harmful UV rays. However, use a high protection sunscreen after the treatment!

Will I see the effects of HydraFacial immediately after the treatment?

Yes, and that’s what makes this technology unique! Narrowed pores, glow effect, soft, smooth and nicely toned skin, matting of oily skin – you will see all this with the naked eye as soon as you get up from the chair! It’s no wonder, then, that the patients who have used Hydrafacial once are so eager to repeat this treatment.

What does it mean that HydraFacial is a medical device?

This innovative U.S.-based technology is registered as a medical device and has certifications for medical device efficacy and safety, such as ISO13485 and FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) certification. Like a drug, the device had to be thoroughly tested and undergo rigorous registration procedures before it could be marketed. Also, keep in mind that HydraFacial works well as a supportive method for dermatological indications, such as the treatment of acne, scars, and hyperpigmentation.

Jakie są przeciwskazania do zabiegu Hydrafacial?

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Inflammation of the skin at the treatment site
  • Cancer diseases
  • Allergy to the ingredients of the preparations used for the procedure
  • Unstabilised diabetes

HydraFacial – possible adverse effects

HydraFacial is a non-invasive, safe, pleasant procedure with a very low risk of complications and adverse effects, provided that its type has been properly selected to meet the patient’s needs and there is no allergy to its active ingredients. For this reason, the procedure is always preceded by a consultation and skin diagnosis.
