Needle mesotherapy

Non-invasive skin regeneration/ Hair loss treatment

Needle mesotherapy – what is it?

Mesotherapy is one of the most popular aesthetic medicine treatments, recommended as anti-ageing prevention and a quick way to hydrate and revitalise the skin. It involves intradermal administration (via injection) of small doses of noncross-linked hyaluronic acid, revitalising and biostimulating cocktails (e.g. with added vitamins, amino acids, peptides, polynucleotides, DMAE) or platelet-rich plasma. The type of mesotherapy and the number and frequency of repetitions are always selected according to the patient's needs. The treatment is also recommended as a “rescue” for skin exposed, for example, to the sun during the summer. Mesotherapy is performed with a fine needle, which is used to administer the preparation at intervals of 5-10 mm – the doctor has several techniques to choose from, depending on the treatment area and the preparation to be administered, e.g. papular, nappage, or linear. To reduce the pain accompanying the puncture, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin beforehand.

Dzięki dostępności w naszej klinice bardzo szerokiej gamy preparatów do mezoterapii możemy zaproponować mezoterapię idealnie dobraną do wskazań i potrzeb pacjenta. Wszystkie zabiegi są wykonywane po konsultacji przez dr Barbarę Jerschinę.

  • anti-ageing prevention,
  • dryness of the skin,
  • loss of firmness and elasticity, skin flabbiness,
  • smoker’s wrinkles, fine lines and wrinkles,
  • signs of photoageing, skin exposed to the sun and pollution,
  • so-called smoker’s skin,
  • grey, tired skin tone, skin lacking freshness,
  • dark circles and bags under the eyes,
  • lack of radiance, dull, sallow complexion,
  • a mesh of fine wrinkles and neckline dryness,
  • dry hand skin,
  • cellulit, rozstępy, utrata jędrności skóry na ciele,
  • skin in need of revitalisation and hydration after summer, winter or other exposure to harsh environmental conditions,
  • preparing the skin for summer.
  • Mesotherapy is best performed in a series of at least 4 treatments repeated every 3-4 weeks or as recommended by the doctor. Then, to maintain the effects, it is worth performing a so-called “booster” treatment after about 6 months, and the whole series should be repeated after 1-1.5 years. Some preparations have ready, manufacturer-recommended administration regimens that can be individually modified by the doctor depending on the patient's indications and needs.

The first results can be seen after just one treatment – the skin is better hydrated and more radiant. After the full series, you will gain:

  • deep hydration of the skin, which is particularly noticeable in dehydrated and tightened skins and in menopausal patients (a drop in estrogen levels results in dry skin),
  • improved elasticity, firming and thickening of the skin,
  • smoothing of fine wrinkles,
  • an overall improvement in the quality and texture of the skin, which looks younger, fresher, smoother, tighter, and more radiant,
  • evening out skin tone and brightening the skin,
  • brightening dark circles under the eyes, reducing crow's feet, giving the eye area a more rested look.

Regularly repeated mesotherapy protects the skin from accelerated ageing and is an excellent investment in future appearance. In the case of scalp treatments, you can count on:

    • inhibition of excessive hair loss in the case of both androgenic and telogenetic alopecia (e.g., postpartum alopecia, seasonal hair loss, weakening of hair during improper weight loss),
    • faster growth of hair, which feels thicker, has a better texture, usually is better manageable,
    • strengthening and thickening of hair weakened and damaged by, for example, improper care and styling or frequent dyeing and bleaching.

Duration of the procedure

Find out more

Skin injections usually take about 20 minutes. Add to this the time it takes for the anaesthetic cream applied earlier to take effect (min. 30 minutes).

Pain intensity

Find out more

Thanks to the use of the anaesthetic cream, the procedure is virtually painless.

Recovery

Find out more

The procedure involves many punctures, so directly afterwards, the skin may be red and slightly swollen, and small bruises or haematomas may appear. Usually, however, recovery does not last more than 1-3 days, and you can conceal the marks with makeup the very next day after the procedure.

How is the procedure?

  • The first step is always to anaesthetise the skin with lidocaine cream. Therefore, when planning your visit to the clinic, take into account that you will have to wait about 30-40 minutes for the anaesthetic cream previously applied to your face to take effect. Adequate time for the cream to remain on the face (covered with film for occlusion) is very important if you want a truly comfortable and painless procedure.
  • Then, after washing off the cream, the doctor injects the chosen preparation into the skin by making a large number of shallow punctures, one next to the other. Some preparations can also be administered by cannula, in which case the number of punctures is smaller and the procedure more comfortable for the patient.
  • Finally, the face is washed with a disinfectant and the doctor applies a special post-treatment cream to the skin. You should not wash it off your face until the next day!

Needle mesotherapy – how to prepare for the procedure?

The treatment does not require any special preparation, but a few days before the procedure, avoid taking anti-inflammatories that can reduce blood clotting (such as the popular Aspirin), as they can increase the risk of bruises and haematomas after the injection, Do not consume coffee or alcohol on the day of the procedure. If you are prone to herpes, it is a good idea to use a protective drug with acyclovir for 3 days before the procedure (and 3-5 days thereafter).

“Mesotherapy is a treatment that I would take with me to a deserted island. The number one anti-ageing treatment and the fastest way to improve the quality and hydration of your skin when you feel it lacks freshness and energy. I recommend it to all my patients!”

Needle mesotherapy – recommendations after the procedure

Immediately after the procedure, the skin may be slightly red and swollen due to its multiple punctures, and the insertion points may bleed slightly. These symptoms usually subside within a few hours, bruises can persist for 2-3 days. During this time, follow the typical skin care recommendations after injection treatments:

  • on the day of the treatment, do not wash your face and do not apply any creams,
  • change the pillowcase on which you sleep to a clean one,
  • from the next day, take care of the cleanliness of the skin, using mild cleansers; do not touch your face with dirty hands, do not wipe it with a used towel,
  • if there is redness or bruising, you can use special creams to speed up the healing of the skin after the procedure,
  • avoid swimming pool, gym, hot baths, and sauna for at least 1 week,
  • protect your skin with a high SPF sunscreen – injection sites are sensitive to UV rays,
  • usually the very next day you can apply makeup to your skin, preferably mineral makeup (with a clean brush),
  • drink plenty of water, so the hyaluronic acid injected into the skin can work even better!

FAQ – frequently asked questions about the needle mesotherapy treatment

No, not always. It all depends on the application technique. However, there is nothing to be afraid of! The lumps should absorb within 3-5 days. As for bruising, it tends to occur in people with weak blood vessels prone to breaking, but fortunately it can be easily concealed with make-up, and its absorption will be accelerated by the use of special post-treatment creams or arnica gel.

Techniką mezoterapii możemy też podawać preparaty typowo biostymulujące, a więc pobudzające w skórze naturalną produkcję kolagenu i elastyny.

Just one mesotherapy treatment improves skin hydration, so it makes sense, for example, if your skin is dry and you need a quick rescue, or you are planning a trip to a hot country and don’t have time to do the whole series. Of course, you will always get better and more lasting results with a whole series of treatments. It is certainly essential for hair loss treatments.

No-needle mesotherapy is not exactly mesotherapy, as this word means intradermal administration of active substances. However, this name is commonly used for cosmetic procedures that use the phenomenon of electroporation or ultrasound to “infuse” active ingredients into the skin. However, this treatment has a lower effectiveness than needle mesotherapy.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Inflammation of the skin at the treatment site
  • Cancer diseases
  • Unregulated autoimmune diseases
  • Advanced diabetes
  • Keloid scar tendencies
  • Disorders of blood coagulation, taking anticoagulants

Properly performed, the procedure carries very low risk of adverse effects and long-term complications beyond temporary complications resulting from repeated puncturing of the skin, such as redness, swelling, or bruising. The procedure is performed by Dr Barbara Jerschina, after the patient has been properly qualified and all contraindications have been ruled out. We encourage you to visit us!
