Polynucleotides

Biostymulacja skóry – dla młodszych osób jako zabieg przeciwstarzeniowy, oraz dla dojrzałych, z widocznymi objawami starzenia i fotostarzenia skóry.

Polynucleotides – what are they?

Polinukleotydy to naturalnie występujące w skórze polimery nukleotydów, a więc związki budujące kwasy nukleinowe DNA, które są podstawowym budulcem chromatyny jądrowej, czyli naszego materiału genetycznego w każdej komórce. Mają one działanie biostymulujące – pobudzają fibroblasty do produkcji kolagenu i elastyny, co prowadzi do ujędrnienia i zagęszczenia skóry, a w efekcie do naturalnego liftingu i spłycenia zmarszczek. Jednocześnie zwiększają nawilżenie skóry, poprawiają jej napięcie i elastyczność, rewitalizują, zapewniają wypoczęty wygląd i promienny blask. Odgrywają też dużą rolę w ochronie antyoksydacyjnej i naprawie uszkodzeń wywołanych przez wolne rodniki.

W naszej klinice stosujemy następujące produkty z polinukleotydami:

Plinest – mezoterapia biostymulująca i rewitalizująca, posiada wysoką dawkę polinukleotydów, w związku z tym działa silnie odmładzająco, odświeżająco, leczniczo i profilaktycznie, zapobiega fotouszkodzeniom.

Plinest Fast – do skór cieńszych i młodszych, jest to też preparat przeznaczony do delikatnej okolicy oczu (redukuje cienie pod oczami). Stosowany również w leczeniu łysienia.

Plinest Body – a product with firming and stretch mark-reducing effects, for body treatments (abdomen, buttocks, arms, breasts).

Newest – połączenie polinukleotydów z kwasem hialuronowym, dający efekt lekkiego wypełnienia i odbudowy objętości.

Nucleofill – provides a lift at the cellular level, acting on the skin in three ways: stimulates collagen and elastin production, retains water in the skin, and neutralises free radicals.

Polynucleotide treatment can be performed on virtually the entire face and body, the most common areas being:

  • face (including the delicate eye area),
  • neck,
  • décolleté,
  • hands
  • body,
  • scalp.
  • anti-ageing prevention,
  • dryness of the skin,
  • loss of firmness, flabbiness of the skin,
  • facial lines and wrinkles,
  • wrinkles and furrows, e.g. nasolabial furrows,
  • tissue defects, such as the tear trough,
  • tissue sagging, face contour abnormalities,
  • so-called smoker’s skin,
  • uneven skin tone,
  • grey, dull appearance of the skin, lack of radiance,
  • symptoms of photoageing, skin exposed to chronic oxidative stress from overexposure to UV radiation or pollution,
  • signs of ageing in the neck and décolleté – fine lines, tech neck, skin sagging,
  • loss of firmness on the abdomen, thighs, arms, stretch marks,
  • as an aid in the treatment of alopecia, e.g. androgenetic or seasonal alopecia.

We usually recommend 4-6 treatments at intervals of 2-3 weeks. The exact number and frequency is determined individually for each patient, depending on the indication and the product chosen by Dr Jerschina.

The first positive signs of skin rejuvenation, associated with the revitalising effect of polynucleotides, are visible immediately after the treatment. The skin becomes tighter, more supple, hydrated, and radiant. However, you will have to wait about 3 months for the full effect of contour rejuvenation and a tissue lift resulting from the strong stimulation of collagen and elastin production, as this is how long it takes for the skin to remodel. Changes intensify over time and with subsequent repetitions.

Duration of the procedure

About 30 minutes. If an anaesthetic cream is used, add to this at least 30 minutes (this is how long the cream must remain on the skin to work). At our clinic, we also use a proprietary method of anaesthetising the skin for injection treatments, especially biostimulating treatments, using cooling compresses and skin compression.

Pain intensity

Thanks to the use of anaesthesia, the procedure is virtually painless.

Recovery

The procedure does not require long recovery; you can return to your daily activities immediately afterwards.

Polynucleotides – how does the procedure work?

Polynucleotide-based biostimulators are injected into the skin at the appropriate depth (intradermally or subcutaneously) using a thin needle. In some cases, a cannula can be used.

Polynucleotides – how to prepare for the procedure?

The procedure does not require special preparations, but it is worth following the recommendations typical of biostimulants:

  • A few days before the treatment, avoid taking anti-inflammatories that can reduce blood clotting (such as the popular Aspirin), as they can increase the risk of bruises and haematomas after the injection.
  • Do not consume coffee or alcohol on the day of the procedure. Drink a lot of water.
  • When planning biostimulative treatments, it is also a good idea to introduce vitamin C supplementation to your diet beforehand, as it further stimulates collagen production initiated by the product administration.
  • If you are prone to herpes, you may need to take an antiviral drug beforehand.

“Polynucleotide biostimulation is one of my favourite methods for rejuvenating the appearance and improving the quality of the skin. The treatments not only firm and thicken the tissues, but also lead to a natural lift and a noticeable change in the contours, prevent flabbiness, moisturise, protect, and regenerate the skin. Polynucleotides are excellent after periods difficult for the skin, such as after sun exposure during the summer.”

Dr Barbara Jerschina

Polynucleotides – recommendations after the procedure

The skin may be red and swollen on the day of the procedure, but these symptoms quickly subside and are a natural reaction of the tissues to the injections. Small bruises or haematomas may also appear, which are also temporary.

As with any injection procedure, you need to take great care of your skin hygiene after the procedure to avoid complications:

  • On the day of the procedure, we recommend not to wash the skin anymore and not to put any cosmetics on it. Our patients go home with a cream and possibly a special foundation applied at the clinic.
  • Keep your skin clean by using mild cleansers, starting the next day. Don’t touch your face with dirty hands, don’t cuddle with pets, change your bed linen to clean one. For the first 2-3 days, it is best to use disposable towels to dry the skin after washing.
  • If redness or bruising has occurred, it is a good idea to include in your daily care a special cream to speed up the healing of the skin after the procedure.
  • Avoid swimming pool, gym, hot baths, sauna, and vigorous exercise for at least 1 week.
  • Protect your skin with a high SPF sunscreen. Although polynucleotides do not cause a photochemical reaction, needle or cannula insertion sites are sensitised to UV rays and hyperpigmentation can occur.
  • After a facial treatment, you can usually apply makeup, preferably mineral makeup (with a clean brush), to your skin the very next day.
  • It is also a good idea to continue supplementation with vitamin C for at least a month after the procedure. It will further stimulate collagen production induced by the administration of the biostimulator.
  • Drink plenty of water, about 2.5 litres a day. This always improves the results of aesthetic medicine treatments.
  • Also, eat a nutritious diet, and especially supplement it with meat or vegetable proteins, so your body can form new collagen.

FAQ – frequently asked questions about polynucleotides

Polynucleotide-based preparations lead to natural tissue reconstruction and regeneration, but it is sometimes necessary to supplement their action with hyaluronic acid-based fillers. At our clinic, we also always combine aesthetic treatments with non-invasive, cosmetic technologies with cleansing, exfoliating and revitalising effects that provide instant results of fresh and radiant skin, such as Silk Peel, Aquapure, Hydrafacial, and Geneo. The treatment programme is always individually planned, so that the therapy is safe and effective, and our patients are satisfied with the results. Come in for a consultation with Dr Barbara Jerschina, who specialises in anti-ageing programmes using, among other things, biostimulants.

We can say that biostimulating treatments rejuvenate the skin from the inside. It is not about quick aesthetic corrections, but primarily about improving skin density and firmness. Polynucleotides stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin, which over time has a visible effect on, i.a., rejuvenating the facial contours, lifting the sagging cheeks, and shallowing wrinkles. Their great advantage is that they additionally have a strong moisturising effect and repair damage caused by oxidative stress.

Biostimulators do not add volume in the same sense as fillers based on cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Over time, they do, in fact, lead to the rebuilding of the skin's collagen support, which has the effect of defect replenishment and a facelift. However, you will have to wait for the effect. Instead, you can complement their action with “traditional” fillers, whose effect is visible immediately after administration. There are also hybrid biostimulators available, such as Newest, which combine the regenerative effects of polynucleotides with the filling action of hyaluronic acid.

Absolutely! It is a very good anti-ageing prevention method and the treatment can be successfully applied to people with early signs of skin ageing, around 30-35 years of age. By taking care of skin biostimulation, you can prevent rapid sagging, deep wrinkles, and disadvantageous face contour changes in the future. Of course, polynucleotides are also a great method used to support the treatment of advanced signs of ageing and photoageing.

It is theoretically possible, as with any other treatment and the substance used in it. Therefore, the treatments should be performed by an experienced physician, using proven products, and always according to a customised plan. It is also very important that new patients coming to us always inform us what treatments, with what products, and when exactly they had performed in other offices. Dr Barbara Jerschina always begins a visit with a thorough medical history interview and determination of the patient’s needs.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Inflammation of the skin at the treatment site
  • Cancer diseases
  • Unregulated autoimmune diseases
  • Advanced diabetes
  • Keloid scar tendencies
  • Allergy to the ingredients of the preparation

If properly performed, the procedure is safe and carries very little risk of adverse effects. Most of them are temporary and result from a natural reaction to the injections (skin reddening, slight swelling, bruising). Dr Barbara Jerschina is very experienced in the use of biostimulators of various types, and each treatment is preceded by a proper qualification of the patient to minimise the risk of side effects. At our clinic, you will also get detailed instructions on how to care for your skin after the procedure. We encourage you to visit us!
