Storz Medical – what does the treatment involve?

Storz Medical wykorzystuje fale akustyczne (dźwiękowe), które rozprzestrzeniając się w tkance tłuszczowej powodują rozerwanie adipocytów i uwolnienie ich zawartości. Przyspieszają też przepływ płynów w układzie naczyń chłonnych, co powoduje zmniejszenie cellulitu i usprawnia proces usuwania uszkodzonych komórek tłuszczowych. Dzięki temu zabieg radzi sobie nawet z zaawansowanym cellulitem.

Leczenie Falami Akustycznymi (Acoustic Wave Therapy – AWT) jest stosowane w medycynie od lat 80. – wtedy z ich pomocą zaczęto rozbijać kamienie nerkowe, a następnie leczyć schorzenia mięśni i ścięgien, wykorzystując je w fizjoterapii. Fale dźwiękowe, inaczej uderzeniowe, mają zdolność rozprzestrzeniania się w tkankach i wprawiać je w „drgania”, które prowadzą do zwiększenia przepuszczalności błon i „opróżniania” komórek tłuszczowych, rozluźnienia zbitej tkanki tłuszczowej odpowiedzialnej za zaawansowany, zwłókniały cellulit, poprawy metabolizmu, mikrokrążenia i drenażu limfy. Most often, the treatment is performed on areas such as:

  • abdomen
  • hips (the so-called saddlebags),
  • thighs,

  • excess body fat, e.g. on the abdomen, thighs, knees, hips, back, or arms,
  • deep fat that is difficult to remove with diet or exercise,
  • cellulite, including advanced, compacted cellulite that is clearly visible on the skin,
  • loose, flabby skin, for example, on the abdomen,
  • sagging buttocks (“banana rolls” under the buttocks),
  • tendency to swelling,
  • irregularities from liposuction,
  • scars and stretch marks,
  • muscle and joint pain.

  • We usually recommend a series of 6-12 treatments at intervals of 3-5 days.

Storz Medical – how does the procedure work?

It is a type of massage performed with a special, small head that emits an acoustic wave and carries it deep into the fatty tissue with the help of vibrations. For better conductivity of the waves, a special gel is applied to the treatment area. The treatment feels like an intense massage.

  • The treatment does not require special preparation, but as before any modelling procedure, it is a good idea to increase the water intake for 5-7 days.
  • On the day of the procedure, do not overeat, avoid alcohol and coffee.

The sound waves spread out in the fat tissue by vibration, which can be felt, but certainly not painful.

Acoustic wave treatment should not cause any large and extensive bruises or haematomas on the skin. However, minor isolated bruising may occur, which should subside within 1-3 days after the procedure.

Fine broken blood vessels, for example, on the legs, are not a contraindication to the procedure. However, we do not use the procedure in people with large varicose veins and thrombotic problems.
